The government is introducing a ban on gasoline exports from March 1 to August 31.

The restrictions do not apply to fuel supplies to countries EAEU, as well as for the export of gasoline to be used for personal purposes or to provide humanitarian assistance. In addition, the government is increasing the standards for diesel fuel sales on the stock exchange from the current 12.5% ​​to 16%.

“The decisions taken are aimed at maintaining a stable situation in the fuel market during a period of increased demand associated with spring field work, the holiday season and planned repairs of oil refineries,” the government says.

It is unknown what kind of planned repairs at the refinery we are talking about. Since the beginning of the year, it has been reported that at least seven attacks on oil and gas infrastructure facilities.

The government last imposed a ban on gasoline exports on September 21, 2023 due to rising prices for fuel. In mid-November, the restrictions were lifted “due to saturation of the domestic market.” Another reason for lifting the ban was the beginning of the winter season, during which demand for fuel decreases.
