MOSCOW, February 29The Perovsky Court of Moscow fined the editor-in-chief of the deprived Novaya Gazeta Sergei Sokolov 30 thousand rubles for discrediting the Russian army, the court reported.
«The court found Sokolov guilty under Part 1 of Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, he was given a fine of in the amount of 30 thousand rubles,” they said in court.

Earlier, Novaya Gazeta reported on its Telegram channel about the detention of its editor-in-chief. It was specified that Sergei Sokolov was taken by employees of Center “E” to the police department to draw up an administrative protocol under the article “On discrediting the RF Armed Forces.” It was noted that the case concerns one of the publications of Novaya Gazeta.

As stated in the administrative violation protocol, employees of the E center established that Sokolov posted in the public domain in December last year (in the Telegram channel of Novaya Gazeta) material in which the examination established linguistic and psychological signs of speech discrediting the actions of power structures.
