It is believed that the cat chooses the best corners in the house. This opinion has completely rational explanations. By observing their pet, owners can adopt some of the cat's habits and make their home even more comfortable. On the eve of Cat Day, which is celebrated in Russia on March 1, Russians admitted which places in the apartment their pets prefer.

Cats do not like cold and drafts, say the authors of the survey, specialists from the Country Development company. More than 60% of respondents shared that their tailed companions choose the most secluded places in the house to relax: a wardrobe, an easy chair close to the radiator, or the head of the bed. It turns out that cats perfectly capture the home “wind rose”: they can be used to navigate where the apartment is not drafty and is always warm.
Cats have very sensitive ears — they do not like sharp and loud sounds. About a third of respondents noticed that in an apartment the cat looks for the quietest places, avoiding not only sources of direct noise, but also taking into account acoustics (reflection of sound from the walls, floor and ceiling). Successful arrangement of furniture in the rooms, a carpet on the floor and soft textures in the design — such an environment is undoubtedly much more comfortable in the eyes of a cat than an empty space in a minimalist style.
Psychological comfort is another important component of life as a cat , and for humans.
Ten percent of cat owners noticed that their pets always try to visually monitor all entrances/exits in the room (windows and doors), since they are potentially unsafe. Therefore, cats often try to position themselves as high as possible and climb onto cabinets and refrigerators.
Of course, when choosing the best place in an apartment, cats take into account many factors, and not all cat motives may be understandable to humans. Among the most unusual places in the house that cats choose, respondents also named: a bathtub, a washing machine, curtain rods and a Christmas tree.
