German Chancellor Olaf Scholz made a statement after a recording of a conversation between Bundeswehr officers discussing the attack on the Crimean Bridge was published. The entry was published on Friday by Margarita Simonyan. The German agency DPA called the recording genuine and reported that the military used Cisco Webex for the conference.
“This is a very serious matter,” Scholz said on the sidelines of a visit to the Vatican on Saturday.
The German agency DPA also quotes him as saying that this is now “being investigated very carefully, intensively and quickly.”
The agency asked Scholz what the foreign policy damage from the incident could be.
In turn, Bundestag deputy Sevim Dagdelen from the Sarah Wagenknecht Union — For Reason and Justice party called for German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius to explain to what extent the audio recording of the conversation between German officers about the attack on the Crimean Bridge corresponds to the truth.
