ULAN-UDE, March 2. Two children, according to preliminary data, six and nine years old, died as a result of a fire in a private house in the Buryat village of Poselye, the press service of the Republican Agency for Civil Defense and Emergency Situations reports in the telegram channel.
According to the agency, a report of a house fire in the village of Poselye, Ivolginsky district of Buryatia, was received on Saturday evening. Three people were able to evacuate on their own. The fire was extinguished at 20.22 (15.22 Moscow time).
“As a result of the fire with burns of varying degrees and poisoning by combustion products, two adults were hospitalized in the emergency hospital (emergency hospital — ed.) in the city of Ulan-Ude. Two children, presumably six and nine years old, died,” the report says.
It is noted that the total area of the fire was 40 square meters. The cause of the fire is being established, and an investigator is working on the scene. 12 people and four pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.
As reported by the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Buryatia, a criminal case has been opened on the grounds of a crime provided for in paragraphs “a”, “c”, “e” of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder of two minors, committed in a generally dangerous manner). According to preliminary data, a large family lived in the burned house, raising five minor children, three of whom were in a medical institution at the time of the fire.
«On March 2, the adults drank alcohol, after which the man, while intoxicated, started a fire inside the living room with gasoline. As a result of the resulting fire, two of his daughters, six and nine, died from the flames and poisoning by combustion products years old. The man and his wife received extensive burns and were hospitalized in serious condition,” the department reported.
It is noted that all the circumstances of the crime are currently being established.
