BAKU, March 8 The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry regards French statements as interference in the internal affairs of Azerbaijan.
The French Ministry of European and Foreign Affairs issued a statement on March 8 that “in Azerbaijan, freedom of thought and press is targeted, and unjustified arrests are being carried out.”
“We regard such unfounded and biased statements by France as interference in the internal affairs of Azerbaijan, the investigative process and the independence of the judiciary. France, where gross violations of human rights take place, where activists are killed during riots, cases of bribery and corruption are widespread in legislative structures, cases of Islamophobia and attacks on Muslims, as well as a number of other human rights violations, has no moral right to make claims against Azerbaijan,” the Foreign Ministry press service said in a statement.
The message contains an appeal to Baku to demand that France not interfere in the internal affairs of Azerbaijan.
