MOSCOW, March 11 One of the main tasks of the Russian gaming industry is to create more domestic products, says State Duma deputy Amir Khamitov.
On Monday, a meeting of the working group under the Committee on Physical Culture and Sports “Development of High-Tech Sports in the Russian Federation” was held. The main topic was the development of the gaming industry in the country and the support of gaming by market and business leaders.
“»There have already been significant positive trends in the development of the gaming industry. Projects in this industry are increasingly receiving government support, competitions in e-sports disciplines are being held. However, I would like to see more domestic games, products and projects appear on the market,» Khamitov told reporters.
Until March 20, members of the working group will present their proposals to improve the situation. These proposals will be included in the final protocol and taken into account in further work.
Dmitry Zdesev, General Director and Creative Director of Pioneers of Gaming Art LLC, emphasized that it is necessary not to fight current trends, but to learn to use them for good.

International esports expert, former top manager of Nintendo/Tencent Hisham Nuhu said that the Russian Federation is among the world leaders in the gaming market.
«»The volume of the Russian market is about $3 billion. There was a slight decline in 2022 with the departure of some companies, there were problems with payments, but the market is gradually recovering. Russia today ranks almost sixth in Europe and is in still in the top 10 in global markets in terms of revenue from mobile games,” he emphasized.
Nuhu noted that it is necessary to create a domestic product that carries traditional Russian values. “Otherwise, we give children the opportunity to play other products that promote other values that contradict what we teach at home,” the expert emphasized.
