The Leninsky District Court of St. Petersburg fined local resident Mikhail Osipov 500 rubles for damaging information material about the presidential elections in Russia (Article 5.14 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation). This was reported by the joint press service of the city courts.
Osipov was accused of writing “bad inscriptions” about Russia and the Russian President on the information stand “Russian Presidential Elections March 15-17, 2024” with a black and red marker.
The man left the inscriptions on the stand hanging in the entrance on March 2. The press service of the city courts «Mediazone» clarified that the «bad inscription» was specifically about Vladimir Putin.
At the end of February, the press service of the St. Petersburg courts reported the arrest of a former policeman who left «bad inscriptions» «on two churches and on the wall of the Polytechnic University. The 56-year-old ex-policeman was accused of two counts of damaging cultural heritage sites and vandalism for reasons of inciting political hatred.
