Vladimir Putin introduced the honorary title “Honored Worker of the Penitentiary System” for employees of penal colonies. The decree was published on the portal of regulatory legal acts.
According to the document, jailers will be able to receive this title for “personal merit” in the execution of criminal penalties and for “strengthening law and order and legality” in correctional institutions. In addition, it will be awarded to those who have worked in the FSIN system for at least 20 years.
After the murder of Alexei Navalny in the Yamal penal colony-3 special regime, Putin awarded the rank of colonel general to the deputy director of the Federal Penitentiary Service Valery Boyarinev, who limited the rights of the oppositionist in the colony.
