BLAGOVESCHENSK, March 12 More than three thousand people who live or work in hard-to-reach and remote areas have already voted early in the Russian presidential elections in the Amur region, the regional election commission reports on its Telegram channel.
The Federation Council has scheduled presidential elections for March 17, 2024. Voting will last three days: March 15, 16 and 17. Four candidates registered by the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation are vying for the post of head of state: Leonid Slutsky, Nikolai Kharitonov, Vladislav Davankov and Vladimir Putin.
«As of Monday, March 11, 3,286 people who live or work in hard-to-reach and remote areas voted early in the region,» the commission said in a statement.
706 polling stations will open in the Amur region on March 15. Most are at 8 am. Five polling stations will begin work two hours earlier — at the Blagoveshchensk airport, as well as at the mines in the northern regions, the election commission specified. Now complexes for processing ballot papers, furniture, booths and other technological equipment are being installed there, and specialists receive ballots from territorial commissions.
«The 258 largest polling stations in the region are equipped with video surveillance systems. The footage will be broadcast online at the Center for Public Observation of Elections in the Public Chamber of the Region. A video wall has been installed there; representatives of candidates and parties, journalists, and observers will be able to watch what is happening at the polling stations. “In short, almost 2 thousand observers will work in these elections,” the election commission clarifies in a statement.
More than 400 sites are equipped with video recording systems. The process will not be recorded only at those polling stations that are located in medical institutions, pre-trial detention centers or where military personnel vote.
