10 days after the “Help Needed” Foundation was declared a “foreign agent,” 63 charitable projects terminated their contracts with it

Within ten days after the Ministry of Justice declared the “We Need Help” charitable foundation a “foreign agent,” 63 non-profit organizations terminated their contracts with it. Foundation development manager Ekaterina Zavershinskaya reported this to “Verstka.”

Another 26 NPOs were asked to temporarily hide them from the “Help Needed” catalogue, Zavershinskaya added.

“We will do everything to continue helping. There are 787 funds in our ecosystem—the lives of people and animals stand behind them,” representatives of the fund said when, on March 1, the Ministry of Justice included the organization in the list of “foreign agents.”

The Need Help Foundation is one of the largest charitable organizations in Russia that helps other NGOs collect donations. We are also talking about small projects from the regions. In addition, the fund evaluates the transparency of Russian NGOs and provides them with online tools for their work.

On March 5, the fund reported that after the organization was declared a “foreign agent,” funding began to “fall sharply.” The next day, without warning, Tinkoff Bank disabled automatic transfers to the Violence.net and Need Help centers.
