MOSCOW, March 14The farewell ceremony for the announcer of the USSR Central Television Svetlana Morgunova takes place in the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity at the Institute of Emergency Medicine named after N.V. Sklifosovsky in Moscow, the correspondent reports.
Morgunova died at the age of 84; the cause of death, as her close friend Vera Musatova reported, was a detached blood clot. After farewell, Morgunova will be buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery.
The closed farewell ceremony for the Soviet announcer was attended by her relatives, friends, and colleagues, among them, in particular, were artists Klara Novikova and Lev Leshchenko. Soviet and Russian announcer Anna Shatilova noted that the whole country knew Morgunova, and her colleagues respected and loved her.
Svetlana Morgunova — People's Artist of Russia and Honored Artist of the RSFSR. Since 1961, she worked as an announcer for the USSR Central Television. She hosted episodes of the Blue Light and Morning Mail programs.
