
MOSCOW, March 16 The activity of cyber attacks on remote electronic voting resources has increased 15 times since the first day of voting, but they were unable to break through the protection, said the Chairman of the Central Election Commission Ella Pamfilova.
At a briefing at the CEC information center, Pamfilova said that since the beginning of voting, 160 thousand DDoS attacks on DEG resources have been blocked, of which 130 thousand were directed against the voting portal, and 30 thousand against the monitoring portal for DEG.

«Yesterday there were not much more than 10 thousand, today there is an increase. The activity of attempts to break through has increased 15 times through the defense. It didn’t and won’t succeed,” Pamfilova said.
In addition, according to its data, almost 18 thousand attacks were recorded on the CEC Internet portal: 141 of them were high-level attacks, 2,712 were medium-level attacks, and 15,017 were low-level attacks. There were also 4 DDoS attacks on the website of the Russian Central Election Commission with a total duration of 22 minutes.
The Federation Council has scheduled presidential elections for March 17, 2024. Voting will last three days: March 15, 16 and 17. Four candidates registered by the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation are vying for the post of head of state: Leonid Slutsky, Nikolai Kharitonov, Vladislav Davankov and Vladimir Putin.
