MOSCOW, March 16 TV presenter Ivan Urgant said that he always wanted to be like People’s Artist of the RSFSR Alexander Shirvindt in humor and was afraid of his leaving.
People's Artist of the Russian Federation, President of the Satire Theater Alexander Shirvindt died on Friday at the age of 89.

"I always wanted to be like him. Well, that is, to stand up at a banquet, take the microphone, say two words, and already some woman is choking on her pilaf from laughter. Let's do a test — say the word Shirvindt to yourself. And now again, just without smiling. Does not work? This is normal,” the TV presenter wrote on his Instagram page*.

“I was only afraid that someday all this would end. When he would leave. But today I realized that there was no need to be afraid. He didn’t go anywhere. He is here. With me. Forever,” Urgant concluded.
Alexander Shirvindt was born on July 19, 1934 in Moscow. After graduating from the Shchukin Theater School in 1956, he was accepted into the troupe of the Theater. Lenin Komsomol (now Lenkom Mark Zakharov). Shirvindt has served at the Satire Theater since 1970, from 2000 to 2021 he was the artistic director of the theater, and in 2021 he became its president.
