The ferry on the line «Sakhalin — mainland» collided with an ice floe and was damaged
Cargo-passenger The ship, operating between Sakhalin and the mainland (Khabarovsk Territory), was damaged on Thursday, probably as a result of a collision with an ice floe. This was reported by representatives of the Far Eastern Transport Prosecutor's Office.
According to them, the ship «Alexander Deev» was damaged while moving along the route Vanino — Kholmsk (ferry crossing between the mainland and Sakhalin). There are 35 crew members, 28 passengers and 28 vehicles on board. There were no casualties. The vessel is awaiting towing to the port of Vanino.
The Far Eastern Transport Prosecutor's Office is monitoring the situation and checking compliance with maritime safety legislation. An assessment of the technical condition of the vessel and the actions of the crew will be carried out.
