LUGANSK, March 21 —Members of the “Lynx” detachment of the volunteer corps, operating as part of the “South” group of troops, created and tested the “Tanya the Machine Gunner” wheeled drone at a training ground in the special operation zone, a representative of the detachment said.
«The concept of the «dagger fire» technique appeared during the Second World War. The machine gun crew moved towards the enemy at night, camouflaged itself and sat quietly until the enemy launched an attack. Nowadays, little has changed. Now this function is performed by wheeled or tracked drones, one of these was created in the “Lynx” detachment,” the agency’s interlocutor said.
According to him, the detachment’s engineers give all inventions female names, this drone was called “Tanya the Machine Gunner.” UAV operators are also included in the calculation The quadcopter adjusts the operation of the ground platform and searches for suitable targets.
«Currently, the wheeled combat platform is undergoing final tests at a training ground in the northwestern military zone. The vehicle can overcome serious obstacles and even drive out of small craters,” explained the agency’s interlocutor.
