MOSCOW, March 22 The Russian Ministry of Finance received a new batch of Lada Aura cars: an excellent car, said Finance Minister Anton Siluanov.
“By the way, we are now saying that everyone’s goal is for officials to switch to domestic cars. I would like to say that a new batch of Lada Aura, not to be confused with Aurus, arrived at the Ministry of Finance today,” he said, giving a lecture at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.
“By the way, it’s an excellent car, no worse than a Ford or even a BMW Five, and it’s recommended to anyone who drives it. But this is a business class car not for the driver, but for the passenger,” he noted.
The Russian Ministry of Finance expected to receive five Lada Aura cars for its employees in the first quarter of 2024, the Ministry of Finance reported in January.
At the end of last year, Siluanov said that employees of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation would be the first among officials to switch to Lada Aura. The head of the ministry got acquainted with this car at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Then the minister carefully examined the new product, got behind the wheel and drove a little.
After the test, Siluanov said that the Ministry of Finance is ready to switch to it from foreign company cars, and called on other officials to give up drivers and drive domestic brands in order to use resources more efficiently and be closer to the people.
The Lara Aura model is based on the Lada Vesta. The new premium class product is distinguished by an increased interior space for rear row passengers by 25 centimeters; its interior is made of Russian-made genuine leather. The car is equipped with a 1.8 liter engine producing 122 horsepower and an automatic transmission. The cost of the model is above 2 million rubles.
