MOSCOW, March 26 State Duma Deputy Olga Zanko (United Russia) sent an appeal to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Justice to check Ukrainian science fiction writers Henry Lyon Oldie with the aim of initiating a criminal case and recognizing them as foreign agents.
“State Duma Deputy Olga Zanko sent a request to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation with a request to conduct an investigation against science fiction writers Henry Lion Oldie with the aim of initiating a criminal case and recognizing them as foreign agents,” Zanko’s press service reported.
The press service explained that under this pseudonym are Ukrainian writers Dmitry Gromov and Oleg Ladyzhensky, by whose decision all funds raised on Russian sites will be transferred to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The writers also publicly thank representatives of NATO countries for their support and participation in joint events, the press service noted.
«I have received many requests on this topic. Writers provide financial support to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, for example, on social networks in the public domain they post publications about the donation of proceeds from the sale of books to the needs of Ukraine. At the same time, social networks of writers, their website “Oldie’s World” and other information resources are maintained, and books are published, including in Russian, which indicates that their activities are aimed at a Russian audience,” the author of the appeal is quoted as saying.
She expressed confidence that «no one would want to accidentally buy a book and find out where the funds will go — both from a financial point of view and from a moral point of view.» “It is important to inform about this, including by markings on the book. Moreover, fiction of this kind is often aimed at teenagers and young people whose life position is just being formed,” Zanko noted.
