MOSCOW, March 26 The bulk of fraudulent calls are received by Russians from call centers in Dnepropetrovsk in Ukraine, said the head of Rostelecom Mikhail Oseevsky.
«The bulk of fraudulent activities are not committed by domestic Russian crime. This is organized activity on the territory of Ukraine, in the city of Dnepropetrovsk. A huge number of fraudulent call centers are concentrated,» the head of Rostelecom said at a meeting of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy.
He added that professionals work in such centers: they call on behalf of authorities and other people. “We need to treat this as one of the elements of the war that is going on — very seriously, very responsibly,” added the head of the company.
Earlier, he reported that during the Russian presidential elections — March 15-17 — electronic voting took place against the backdrop of a cyber war, attacks were made on all resources: the Central Election Commission, the Moscow government, all operators. However, Oseevsky added that the preparation made it possible to cope with all very serious threats.
