MOSCOW, March 27Last year, China retained its long-standing leadership in the ranking of world exporters of lithium batteries, while Hungary left the top five largest sellers — its place was taken by the Czech Republic, it found out after studying open statistical data.
Last year, China exported 60% of all batteries in the world in monetary terms. Over the year, China managed to increase its supplies quite well: by 28%, to $65 billion.
Poland took second place after China: this European country increased supplies by 38%, to $11.85 billion. Third place went to South Korea with a volume of $7.27 billion — this figure decreased by 1% over the year. Fourth place went to Germany ($6.22 billion and an increase of 5%).
The Czech Republic (by 66%, to $3.43 billion) and the USA (by 69%, to $3.25 billion) were able to increase shipments much more noticeably. This allowed them to take fifth and sixth place in the ranking of the world's largest exporters of these products.
Thanks to such dynamics, the Czech Republic was able to replace its neighbor in Eastern Europe, Hungary, in the top 5 exporters. Over the year, its volumes dropped 7 times, to $1.02 billion, and the country was only able to take 11th place. The top ten also included Japan ($3.02 billion), Malaysia ($1.41 billion), the Netherlands ($1.4 billion) and Mexico ($1.09 billion).
In total, countries exporting lithium batteries shipped products worth $108.4 billion. Over the year, this figure increased by 9%.
