MOSCOW, March 27 Owners of Samsung phones will not be able to use the Mir virtual cards in a week, the manufacturing company reported.
«Starting from April 3, 2024, adding and using cards “Mir” in Samsung Pay will not be available,” says the press release.
At the same time, the service will continue to work with club cards and loyalty cards.
In addition, the mobile application of the Mir payment system for paying with the Mir Pay smartphone has disappeared from the Google Play store, the correspondent found out. Also, the search no longer finds the “SBPay” and “Hello!” applications, which were previously available for download.
In February, the National Payment Card System — the Mir card operator — came under American sanctions. After this, her applications disappeared from the AppStore. The NSPK reported that already installed programs continue to work and advised not to delete or update them.
The Samsung Pay service was launched in 2015, and it started working in Russia a year later. Before the introduction of sanctions, it was the third most popular contactless payment system in Russia with a share of 17%.
