NIZHNY NOVGOROD, March 28 Two men were detained and arrested in the Nizhny Novgorod region on suspicion of beating and setting a friend on fire, the man subsequently died, reports press service of the regional investigative department of the RF IC.
According to investigators, in March 2024, the suspects, while near a house on Lomonosov Street in the city of Gorbatov, beat him during a quarrel with a 36-year-old victim, then doused him with a flammable liquid and set him on fire. The injured man with burns was taken to a medical facility, where he died. A criminal case has been initiated under Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder committed by a group of persons).
«On suspicion of committing this crime, two previously convicted men, 39 and 27 years old, were detained. At the request of an investigator of the Investigative Committee of Russia, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention against the suspects,» says a statement from the regional Investigative Committee.
