TORZHOK, March 27 Russia today ranks in terms of the amount of time citizens spend on reading second place, but we need to move on, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“»The modern Russian public, Russian citizens are beginning to read more. According to research by international organizations, of course, they do this unbiasedly; today Russia ranks second in the world in terms of the amount of time that citizens of the country spend on reading,» said head of state at a meeting with cultural workers of the Tver region.
The President noted that China was in first place, and Spain was in third.
«Therefore, we are making progress, but it is very modest and we, of course, need to move forward at a faster pace. We will definitely do this,» Putin concluded.
