MOSCOW, March 29 The Bank of Russia in 2023 received a net profit of 140.4 billion rubles against a record loss of 721.7 billion rubles in 2022, according to the annual report of the Central Bank. The regulator made a profit for the first time since 2016, as was confirmed by analyzing Central Bank data.
«At the end of 2023, there was a positive financial result (profit). The main factor in the formation of profit is the positive revaluation of securities, for which in 2022 a negative revaluation was reflected attributable to the financial result,» the statement said.
Before this, the Central Bank was unprofitable for six years in a row, and in 2016 it made a profit of 43.7 billion rubles.
