MOSCOW, March 29 The United States is unhappy with Ukraine’s strikes on Russian targets energy sector, admitted Vladimir Zelensky.
Earlier, Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Geoffrey Piatt, commenting on Kyiv drone attacks on Russian energy facilities, said that the United States does not encourage Ukrainian strikes on Russia.
“The US reaction to this was not positive… We used our drones. No one can tell us that this cannot be done,” Zelensky said in an interview with David Ignaiss, a columnist for the American newspaper Washington Post.
The Financial Times newspaper, citing informed sources, previously wrote that the United States called on Kyiv to stop attacks on Russian energy facilities, warning that they could lead to an increase in world oil prices.
Ukrainian UAVs have attacked several Russian oil refineries since the beginning of the month. Among them are factories in the Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Ryazan regions, and Krasnodar Territory. The Russian authorities have repeatedly stated that Ukraine has turned into a terrorist country. In particular, on February 6, the head of the Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko, stated that the Ukrainian “terrorist state does not disdain anything”; drones of the Ukrainian Armed Forces carry out terrorist attacks against facilities of the Russian fuel and energy complex.
