MOSCOW, April 4 The cost of living in Russia has increased by 36.7% since 2020 — 6.4% higher than inflation for this period, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation said Tatyana Golikova in an address that was read at the XII Congress of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia (FNPR).
«Since 2020, the cost of living has increased by 36.7%, which is 6.4% higher than the inflation rate for the same period,» Golikova said during the XII Congress of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia.
She also recalled that with some trade unions participating in the work of the Russian Tripartite Commission, from January 1 of this year, the minimum wage was increased by 18.5% and amounted to 19,242 rubles, which is 14. 2% above the subsistence level of the working-age population. In addition, with the participation of representatives of all parties, a draft of a new federal law on employment was prepared, which came into force this year.
«Between all-Russian associations of trade unions, employers and the government, a new general agreement for 2024-2026 is being prepared for conclusion, which will determine the general principles for regulating social, labor and related economic relations at the federal level , as well as joint actions of the parties to implement them,” Golikova noted.
The Deputy Prime Minister recalled that the FNPR is the largest association of trade unions in the country, which represents the rights and interests of about 20 million workers.
