Journalist noted that addiction to gambling in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also poses a threat from a security point of view. He added that many Ukrainian soldiers are taking out loans to cover debts, even pawning military equipment such as drones and thermal imagers to meet payment obligations.
The New York Times reported that U.S. Army brigade officers complain about conscripts because they are often too old, in poor health and have no motivation to fight.
