The lawyer warned about the dangers of transferring “money out of nowhere” to a card

MOSCOW, April 6 Transferring “money from nowhere” to a bank card is not a reason to rejoice, but to be wary: instead of unexpected income, it brings hassle and trouble, he said in an interview with the agency “Prime” lawyer, teacher at the Financial University under the Government of Russia Kirill Danilov.
If this is not a gift, debt repayment or other unexpected income, but an erroneous transfer, the money must be returned, otherwise you will be accused of unjust enrichment. Delaying the return will not solve anything — they will demand from you in court not only the entire amount, but also interest.

“So, if you mistakenly received 100 thousand rubles from an unknown person, in three month, the interest rate for the use of funds will be 3,978.14 rubles. And they will need to be returned along with the money received,” the lawyer warned.

In addition, scammers can pull off the “money from nowhere” trick. In order not to fall for their bait, the money must be returned through the bank by filling out an application for the return of the erroneous transfer. There should be no transfers to the accounts or phone number you have been given — there is a high risk of losing your savings altogether, Danilov warned.
