On the night of April 6, Russian troops fired rockets at Kharkov. The mayor of the city, Igor Terekhov, announced this.
According to Terekhov, the blow fell on a residential area. According to preliminary information, nine multi-storey buildings, three dormitories, a kindergarten, a cafe and other buildings were damaged. According to the mayor, six people died. Later, UNIAN, citing the Kharkov police, reported a seventh death.
The head of the Kharkov regional military administration, Oleg Sinegubov, also said that 11 people were injured due to the Russian attack — 10 of them received mild and moderate injuries. According to Sinegubov, there were two shellings in total — the first began at 0:20, the second — after one in the morning, the city was shelled using the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system.
The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that only during the night on April 6, Russian troops launched 32 drones and six missiles towards Ukraine, of which 28 drones and three missiles were shot down by air defense.
