In St. Petersburg, police detained an activist of the “Way Home” movement while laying flowers

Police in St. Petersburg detained Yulia Demensienko, an activist of the movement of wives of mobilized “The Way Home.” This was reported in the movement’s Telegram channel.

The woman was taken to the 78th police department. The reason for the arrest, as “The Way Home” writes, was a green ribbon with the inscription “No to War,” which Demensienko had while laying flowers at one of the local memorials. It is not yet known what exactly the detainee is charged with.

Previously, “The Way Home” announced two actions for April 6. During the day, according to information on the movement’s Telegram channel, flowers should be laid at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow and memorials in other cities, and in the evening at 17:00 activists are invited to hold an “March of Empty Pots.” “Go out onto the balconies, go to the windows. And knock on the pots,” said the post about the march.

With the help of actions, the “Way Home” movement is trying to get the authorities to sign a decree on the completion of mobilization and the release of those who were already taken to war in Ukraine.
