NALCHIK, April 9The Cherkessk City Court sentenced to three years in prison the former judge of the Mineralovodsk City Court of the Stavropol Territory, who was accused of fraud on an especially large scale, the press service of the Supreme Court of Karachay-Cherkessia reported.
“»As established by the court, in November 2018 and July 2019, a judge of the Mineralovodsk City Court received funds totaling 2 million rubles from a resident of the Predgorny District under the pretext of assisting in the cancellation of an appeal decision on a civil claim that was not before him is being considered, and the court has made a decision in favor of the plaintiff,” the statement says. 
It is noted that the judge disposed of the money received at our own discretion.
“»The court took into account all the circumstances of the case, compensation for damage caused by the crime, and sentenced the former judge to imprisonment for a period of 3 years to be served in a general regime colony,» the statement says.
It is noted that the measure of restraint for the ex-judge has been changed to detention; the sentence has not yet entered into legal force.
