The Ministry of Internal Affairs has put the femme activist and writer Daria Serenko on the wanted list. Mediazona drew attention to the wanted card.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs database says that Serenko is wanted “under an article of the Criminal Code.” What exactly she is accused of is not specified. Previously, nothing was known about criminal cases against Serenko. Unlike other activists, Serenko was put on the wanted list not by one of the Moscow departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, but by the police department in Omsk (at the place of registration of the writer). » class=»mz-publish-photo__image» data-type=»photo» data-slate-custom=»{"src":"https://s3.zona.media/i/28658bd8ba3e7c51176688744f0e6afc","alt" ;:"","imgSrc":"https://s3.zona.media/i/28658bd8ba3e7c51176688744f0e6afc","migrationId":"1646998844495","html":null}» alt=» 1″ />
After the Russian invasion of Ukraine began, Serenko founded the Feminist Anti-War Resistance movement. In January 2023, she was declared a “foreign agent.” According to the Ministry of Justice, the writer collected money in support of “unfriendly” Ukraine, “promoted the public promotion of individuals participating in protest movements,” and also “promoted LGBT relations,” which contradicts state policy to preserve “traditional values.”
