The defense of the raw foodist Lyuty did not rule out that his child died due to his mother’s fault

SOCHI, April 10< /strong>The defense of raw food blogger Maxim Lyuty casts doubt on the results of the examination into the death of his child: according to lawyer Alexei Avanesyan, the mother of the newborn (already convicted) was a vegan with iron deficiency even before meeting Lyuty, which could have affected the baby’s health, the correspondent reports from the Sochi courtroom.
Avanesyan referred to the criminal case against the mother of the deceased baby, Oksana Mironova, according to which she suffered from iron deficiency anemia, and was also a vegan even before giving birth (she excluded food of animal origin from her diet, from meat and fish to milk and eggs). This, Avanesyan believes, could be the cause of the illness and subsequent death of the baby.

«»Mironova, several years before meeting Lyuty, professed the indicated dietary methods; she was a vegan. Premature children, children of mothers suffering from iron deficiency anemia during pregnancy are at risk. Iron deficiency anemia develops especially unfavorably before conception… In such In cases, primary placental insufficiency is possible… low location of the placenta, its presentation, early miscarriage, non-developing pregnancy, the presence of anemia in a pregnant woman poses an immediate threat to the child,” follows from Mironova’s testimony, read by Avanesyan during the petition process.
In turn, senior assistant prosecutor for the Lazarevsky district Yulia Filchagina, acting as a state prosecutor, asked to reject the petition: according to her, an expert had previously been questioned on this issue, “no inaccuracies or unresolved issues arose.”

The court ultimately sided with the prosecutor's office and rejected the defense's motion, finding no reason for a re-examination.
Lyutoy was charged with Part 4 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm against a minor with bullying) and Article 156 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (improper performance of educational duties). According to SUSK in the Krasnodar Territory, the child became ill due to prolonged refusal of food. The court previously sentenced the mother of the newborn to two years of correctional labor.
