MOSCOW , April 14The urn with the ashes of People's Artist of Russia, President of the Satire Theater Alexander Shirvindt was buried at the Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow in the afternoon, the ceremony was held in the circle of loved ones, the correspondent reports.
Shirvindt died on March 15 at the age of 90. The farewell ceremony for the artist took place at the Moscow Satire Theater. After this, his body was cremated. 
The theater previously reported that the family expressed a desire for the ceremony to take place only among relatives and theater employees.
The urn with the ashes was buried in the central alley. Nearby are the graves of artists Vasily Lanovoy, Inna Churikova, directors Gleb Panfilov, Vladimir Menshov and Mikhail Zhvanetsky.
Relatives and friends of the artist came to the funeral, among whom were his wife Natalya Belousova, son Mikhail Shirvindt, artistic director of the Variety Theater Gennady Khazanov, artistic director of the Satire Theater Sergei Gazarov, special representative of the Russian President for international cultural cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy, photographer Yuri Rost, actors Alena Yakovleva, Fedor Dobronravov, Maxim Averin, Elena Podkaminskaya and others.
Shirvindt was born on July 19, 1934 in Moscow. After graduating from the Shchukin Theater School in 1956, he was accepted into the troupe of the Lenin Komsomol Theater (now Lenkom Mark Zakharov). Shirvindt has served at the Satire Theater since 1970, from 2000 to 2021 he was the artistic director of the theater, and in 2021 he became its president. In addition, the actor taught at the Shchukin Theater Institute. Shirvindt is widely known for his roles in films, including such films as “The Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath!”, “Three in a Boat, Not Counting the Dog,” “Circus Princess” and others.
