The Investigative Committee has charged business coach Dmitry Portnyagin with tax evasion of 124 million rubles (part 2 of Article 198 of the Criminal Code). His lawyer Mikhail Mushailov told RIA Novosti about this.
Mushailov clarified to the TASS agency that another criminal case had been opened against his client — about the laundering of money obtained by criminal means (clause “b” of part 4 of article 174 of the Criminal Code). According to the lawyer, Portnyagin admitted his guilt in tax evasion and reimbursed the amount. A preventive measure will be chosen for him tomorrow, April 15.
According to the Investigative Committee, in 2018-2020, Portnyagin and his wife evaded paying taxes by transferring money to the accounts of third companies. The Mash telegram channel reported the arrest of the blogger on April 12. The next day, April 13, he was questioned by investigators.
On April 11, Portnyagin published a post on his Instagram from, as he himself claimed, the “Northern Military District zone.” The short video was filmed against the backdrop of two machine guns and a flag with the image of Christ. Having talked about his criminal case, the blogger said that he was “not running away anywhere.” According to the Mash telegram channel, he was detained in the Rostov region.
