The Frunzensky Court of Vladimir arrested for two months the person involved in the arson case (Part 2 of Article 167 of the Criminal Code), according to the court’s website.
According to investigators, on April 13, a resident of Vladimir started an arson near the administration building of the Vladimir region. 24-year-old Vladislav Afanasyev, wrote Shot, threw gas canisters, Molotov cocktails and firecrackers into the building. According to the telegram channel, a Vladimir resident set fire to the car of the head of the department for the prevention of corruption offenses, Inna Dyrova. There is no information about the casualties.
The Day in Vladimir publication reported that after his arrest, Afanasyev was taken to the hospital with burns to his respiratory tract because he sprayed himself with several pepper sprays. During interrogation, according to journalists, he said that he had become a victim of scammers: they forced the young man to send them money and promised to return the amount if he set fire to the government of the Vladimir region.
The version about the scammers was confirmed by Vladimir Governor Alexander Avdeev. According to him, the attacker was “under the influence of the Ukrainian TsIPSO”, and the purpose of the attack was “to commit a provocation against the authorities as a whole.”
