TOKYO, Apr 17 Japan's total imports from Russia in March decreased by 14% compared to the same period in 2023, and exports to Russia fell by 35.5%, according to data from the Japanese Ministry of Finance released on Wednesday.
In particular, imports to Russia last month amounted to 81.2 billion yen (about $524.93 million). Exports from Japan to Russia in March amounted to 26.77 billion yen ($173.06 million).
A drop in exports was observed for such items as medical products (by 96.3%), plastic products (by 81.8%), iron and steel products (by 95.7%), rubber ( by 22.5%), paper and paper products (by 78.2%), generators (by 57.7%). In addition, in March, exports of audio and video equipment (by 26.3%), cars (by 15.3%), motorcycles (by 1.3%) and components (by 37.4%) decreased.
