CHELYABINSK, April 17 The water level in the Tobol River near Kurgan, as of 08:00 (06:00 Moscow time) Wednesday, has risen per day by 123 centimeters and reached 865 centimeters, according to the Telegram channel of the regional government.
According to the city administration, at 08:00 (06:00 Moscow time) Monday the water level rose to 631 centimeters, at 08:00 (06:00 Moscow time) Tuesday — to 742 centimeters.
«Over the last 2 hour, the water level on the Tobol River in Kurgan increased by 15 cm, exceeding the “dangerous phenomenon” mark on April 17 at 8:00 (06:00 Moscow time) the level is 865 cm,” the message says.
The government called on residents of the flooded zones of Kurgan and the Ketovsky district to evacuate immediately.
As the city administration reported, water continues to arrive in the Topol microdistrict, is already approaching the school, it is necessary to evacuate urgently.
The regional State Emergency Service of Russia reported that the rise of water in the Tobol River near Kurgan will continue in the coming days, growth is expected from 30 to 100 cm, including in the Ketovsky municipal district
The Ural Hydrometeorological Center predicted the continuation of the rise of water near Kurgan to April 18th. The maximum expected value is 1070 centimeters, the Ministry of Emergency Situations specified. At the same time, a level of 700 centimeters is considered unfavorable, and a level of 850 centimeters is considered dangerous.
In the Kurgan region, a regional-scale emergency regime is in effect. In the region, 62 settlements, 4,300 houses, 5,550 household plots and 600 summer cottages may be flooded; 18,718 people are at risk of being in the flood zone.
As of April 16, 660 houses and more than 2.3 thousand household plots remain in the flood zone in five municipal districts and Kurgan itself.
