MOSCOW, April 17The Moscow Prosecutor has been instructed to conduct an investigation of foreign agent Tatyana Lazareva* due to the dissemination of illegal information on her part on the Internet, according to the Prosecutor General’s Office’s response to Yampolskaya’s request, which she published on her Telegram channel.
Earlier, the head of the State Duma Committee on Culture, Elena Yampolskaya, asks the Prosecutor General’s Office to check TV presenter Tatyana Lazareva* under the article on justifying terrorism for her statements about drone attacks on Russian cities. She noted that an interview with Lazareva* had gone viral on the Internet, in which she “cynically commented on the terrorist drone attacks carried out by the criminal Kyiv regime” on Russian cities.
“In order to respond to possible violations of the law, the Moscow City Prosecutor has been instructed to organize a check of the reported information and inform you about its results,” the response from the Prosecutor General’s Office said.
Earlier, Lazareva announced on social networks her intention, together with 44 other people, to run for the Moscow City Duma, elections to which will be held in the fall. According to Lazareva*, she wants to check whether “the status of a foreign agent does not discriminate against people at all, as they say.” The Ministry of Justice said that foreign agents have the right to participate in elections as candidates, but are required to comply with the restrictions imposed on them by law, in particular, indicating their status in the application to the Central Election Commission, in campaign materials and at the polling station.
