MOSCOW, April 18On the eve of Easter, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia sent letters to chicken egg producers and chains reminding them of the ban on unreasonable price increases, indicating that in the first quarter there was a decrease in wholesale selling prices for eggs, the agency reports.
«The FAS reminded chicken egg market participants of the ban on unreasonable price increases. The service sent corresponding letters to manufacturers of these products and retail chains,» the statement says. 
«FAS Russia monitors the weighted average wholesale selling prices, cost and profitability of sales of chicken eggs as a socially significant product. In the first quarter of 2024, there was a decrease in wholesale selling prices in this market,» they emphasized department.
The Antimonopoly Service also draws the attention of market participants to the need to contain prices for socially significant products in the interests of consumers and adherence to the principles of responsible pricing, “taking into account the possible increase in demand for chicken eggs in connection with the upcoming Easter holiday «.
