The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade proposed labeling grocery products
In Russia it is planned to conduct a voluntary experiment on labeling grocery products. This is reported on the website of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
Condiments, spices, sauces, vinegar, crackers (with the exception of breadcrumbs), chips, seeds, popcorn, snacks and a number of other products are supposed to be marked with special identifiers.
The operator, free of charge, will be the “Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies” (LLC “Operator-CRPT”), which is developing the “Honest Sign” digital marking. Participants in the experiment will also be provided with everything necessary for labeling free of charge.
The “Honest Mark” system was developed to combat counterfeit goods in retail chains. Labeling involves applying a special Data Matrix code to the packaging and entering this unit of goods into the database .
