In Barnaul, the Altai Regional Drama Theater named after Shukshin removed from its repertoire the play “Two Angels, Four Men,” based on the play by publicist Viktor Shenderovich, reports “Siberia. Realities.»
The theater box office confirmed to the publication that the last show will take place on April 30, and from May the play will not be in the theater’s repertoire.
On the theater’s official page on VKontakte it says: “The play “Two Angels, Four Men” has been running for 11 years. was an absolute hit in our repertoire. For 11 years it was almost always 100% sold out. But it's time to say goodbye. On April 30, the last show of the comedy about life and death, good, evil and the search for justice will take place. Have you been planning to watch “Two Angels, Four Men” for a long time, but kept putting it off? Do you love the performance and want to express your sympathy to it?”
The director of the theater, in the comments to this post, when asked why the play was being removed from the repertoire, answered: “Not all spectators like that a foreigner’s play is being performed, they complain about us.”
The Ministry of Justice declared Viktor Shenderovich a “foreign agent” at the end of December 2021.
