The Kyzyl City Court of the Republic of Tyva sentenced local resident Chestek-Kat Dash-oolovna Irgit, who stabbed an acquaintance several times, to three years of restriction of freedom. The decision was published on the court’s website, noted “7×7”.
The verdict was handed down on February 9, the woman was found guilty in the case of intentionally causing harm to health (clause “h” of Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code). According to the court, during the feast there was a quarrel over a debt, as a result of which Irgit stabbed one of those present with a knife in the back of the chest, shoulder and left side.
In court, Chestek-Kat said that due to severe intoxication, she did not remember how she stabbed her friend with a knife. She added that she “bought food, clothes, slippers for the victim and apologized to her, gave money of 50 thousand rubles through her children as compensation for moral damage, but she could not personally give it to her because she was under house arrest.”
Chestek-Kat fully admitted her guilt, which became one of the mitigating circumstances when sentencing. The court considered other such circumstances to be assistance in the investigation, as well as the fact that the defendant’s son died in the war in Ukraine and was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage. The court took into account the age and state of health of Chestek-Kat, her lack of a criminal record, and her gratitude from the head of the republic and the chairman of the administration of Tyva.As a result, the woman was banned for three years from leaving her house from 22:00 to 6:00 and leaving the village. She was required to report to the criminal-executive inspection once a month—she is prohibited from changing her place of residence without the approval of this body.
On the website of the project “Warriors of Tuva — Descendants of the Black Death,” created with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives, a biography of the 22-year-old son of the convicted woman was published. His name is Burundai Daniyarovich Irgit. According to data from this site, he was born in the village of Kyzyl-Mazhalyk “in a simple working family” and studied at college with a degree in forestry. He served in a military unit in Naro-Fominsk, after which he entered into a contract with the Ministry of Defense. He participated in the war “from the first days” and died in the village of Verkhopolye, Kharkov region in June 2022.
