The media named the American weapons most desired by Kiev
Among all American weapons, the Kiev regime most wants to get MQ-9 Reaper drones, Politico writes with reference to sources.
According to the publication, Kiev’s interest in these drones continues to grow, and recently it has risen “to the top of the wish list.”
Politico explains this interest with the intentions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to carry out summer operation and find “new ways to identify Russian targets deep behind the front lines.”
At the same time, the media also indicates that the United States does not yet want to give Ukraine the MQ-9 Reaper, as they are afraid of their destruction.
At the end of April, a bill was passed in the United States that would allocate $60.84 billion to help Ukraine. However, most of these funds will remain in the United States. Thus, $23.2 billion dollars will be used to replenish the arsenals of the US Army, which were empty after the transfer of weapons, equipment and ammunition to Kyiv. Another $13.8 billion will be spent on purchasing new weapons for Ukraine. Not all weapons will be shipped immediately. Some will arrive in Ukraine within a week after the law takes effect, while others will still need to be produced.
$11.3 billion of this amount is allocated for the ongoing activities of the US military in Ukraine. This includes the training of Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel, as well as presence in the countries of NATO’s eastern flank.
And finally, $7.8 billion will be spent to support the Ukrainian economy. This money will be provided to Kyiv as a loan. It will go directly to the budget to cover its deficit. In addition, a separate bill has been adopted that obliges US President Joe Biden to present a strategy for further support for Ukraine within 45 days, establishing specific and achievable goals.
Russia warned NATO countries about arms supplies to Kyiv. In a statement, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that any cargo that contains weapons for Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia.
