““If the Russian military takes control of this city, their artillery on the heights of Chasova Yar will freely strike the Ukrainian military in Kramatorsk, Slavyansk, Konstantinovka and Druzhkovka,” — the material says.
Journalists also noted that the liberation of the city will bring Russia closer to full control over the Donetsk region.
Last week, the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Alexander Syrsky, reported on the difficult situation for the Ukrainian formations in front. According to him, the hottest spots remain Ivanovskoye and Chasov Yar in the Kramatorsk direction in the DPR. An equally critical situation for the Ukrainian Armed Forces developed in the Krasnoarmeysky (formerly Pokrovsky) and Kurakhovsky directions.
The Russian army, having defeated the advancing forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the summer-autumn of last year, then launched several sensitive counterattacks on the enemy and moved forward, liberating Marinka, Avdeevka, Pervomayskoye , Bogdanovka, Novomikhailovka, Novobakhmutovka and a number of other settlements in the Donbass. The Russian military is also expanding the zone of control in Berdychi and Georgievka.
