Four people arrested in the case of an anti-Semitic pogrom in Dagestan were charged with violating transport security

The four accused in the case of mass riots at the Makhachkala airport, a charge of violating transport security requirements was added (part 3 of Article 263.1 of the Criminal Code). This follows from the card on the website of the Supreme Court of Dagestan, Mediazona noted.

The article on violation of transport security carries up to seven years in prison. Previously, it was not known about those accused in connection with the anti-Semitic pogrom in Dagestan.

At the same time, the head of the republic, Sergei Melikov, announced back in December the initiation of a case for “violation of aviation safety rules” (he probably meant Article 263.1 of the Criminal Code).

More than 100 people are in a pre-trial detention center in Dagestan on charges of participating in mass riots in connection with the pogrom at Uytash airport. It is known that one of them is additionally accused of attempting to kill a security officer (Article 317 of the Criminal Code) — he faces a life sentence.

According to Mediazona as of January 2024, protocols after the pogrom amounted to 901 people. Residents of Dagestan were charged with an article on an illegal meeting (20.2 of the Administrative Code), a mass gathering of citizens in violation of public order (20.2.2 of the Administrative Code) or violation of security rules at the airport (11.15.1 of the Administrative Code).

October 29 at the airport Uytash landed on a regular flight from Tel Aviv. Hundreds of Dagestanis came to meet him; they, with Palestinian flags, broke into the airport building, where they “looked for Jews” and checked the passports of all passengers. The arriving passengers spent several hours in the building of the captured airport until they were evacuated by helicopter to a military base.
