WARSAW, May 23. Discovered in early May in the hall where a meeting of the Polish cabinet of ministers was supposed to take place, listening devices turned out to be an old telephone line, radio station RMF FM reported.
«There is no indication that the disclosed installation was intended for unauthorized data collection,» the Homeland Security Agency said, confirming earlier information that it was an old system used for remote communications.
Meetings of the Cabinet of Ministers of Poland usually take place in Warsaw. On May 7, it was decided to hold a meeting in Katowice, since an economic forum was taking place there, in which Prime Minister Donald Tusk and a number of other government members took part.
Before the meeting, the press secretary of the Minister-Coordinating Special Services, Jacek Dobrzynski, said that listening devices had been found in the building and dismantled. A scandal broke out in the country.
