The Primorye Regional Court did not satisfy the defense's complaint against the arrest of 34-year-old American military man Gordon Black, who is in a pre-trial detention center on a theft case. TASS reports this.
The American’s lawyer did not agree that he could escape while remaining free. Black himself explained that he was not going to flee the country, and indicated that he did not have the money to do so. The man told the court that he was ready to live with the girl who was the victim in his case. The court decided to uphold the decision of the Pervomaisky District Court to arrest Black.
Black’s arrest became known on May 7. The sergeant arrived in Vladivostok from South Korea without receiving permission from his commanders, NBC News reported. He decided to go to Russia to visit a girl with whom he was in a relationship. Black was detained at the hotel after his girlfriend reported the theft. According to Shot, the military man stole 200 thousand rubles from her due to the conflict.
Black was charged with theft with significant damage (clause “c” of Part 2 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code). The Primorsky Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs claims that he admitted guilt and is cooperating with the investigation.
After the arrest of the military man, Radio Liberty journalists found the TikTok of his Russian girlfriend Alexandra Vashchuk. She also published a video in which Black posed for her in military uniform, and she responded by calling him “my pindos.” According to his Army patches, Black served as a drill instructor.
