MINSK, May 23. President Vladimir Putin arrived in Minsk on a two-day official visit, the correspondent reports.
The Russian leader’s plane landed at the airport of the Belarusian capital. There he was met by the President of the Republic, Alexander Lukashenko. As the Kremlin press service reported, the visit is taking place at the invitation of the head of the host country.
Earlier on Thursday, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said that “extensive communication” between Putin and Lukashenko will take place on the same day in the evening, and on Friday “there will be a whole day of this official visit.”
According to the press service of the Belarusian leader, tomorrow, May 24, negotiations will be held at the Palace of Independence in Minsk, first in a narrow format and then in an expanded format.
The parties are expected to discuss the state and prospects for the development of the entire range of bilateral relations — the integration agenda and implementation of decisions taken by the Supreme State Council of the Union State, political dialogue, promotion of joint trade, economic and cooperation projects, strengthening security, interaction in the humanitarian sphere.< br>In addition, the focus will traditionally be on the international agenda, the situation in the region, and a joint response to emerging challenges and threats.
