ROSTOV-ON-DON, May 30. The Duma of the Astrakhan Region has scheduled gubernatorial elections for a single voting day on September 8, the regional governor's office reports.
“Today, May 30, the regular meeting of the regional Duma opened with the question of calling elections for the governor of the Astrakhan region on September 8, 2024,” the message says.
This year, a large-scale election campaign will be held in the Astrakhan region: elections of the governor, by-elections to the Duma of the Astrakhan region in single-mandate electoral district No. 13, elections of candidates for deputies of local governments, heads of municipalities.
In total, about 1.3 thousand mandates will be filled.
Earlier, the governor of the Astrakhan region, Igor Babushkin, announced his decision to nominate the governor of the Astrakhan region in the elections. Russian President Vladimir Putin supported this decision.
